Margaret Waghorn

Now six years into her customer support role as a member of the Getz Healthcare ANZ team, Margaret Waghorn undertakes all administration, distribution and customer support responsibilities for Getz Healthcare New Zealand. 

From a successful background in accounting, Margaret has worked across a variety of accounts and administrative roles, including in the medical device industry as well as at a small printing company. Now that she is five years into her role at Getz Healthcare, Margaret recalls the ultimate reason behind her decision to join the Getz Healthcare team as being enthused about “coming back into the healthcare sector, 100 per cent.” Remembering the time she made the exciting move to Getz Healthcare, Margaret shares, “my colleague that worked for Getz Healthcare reached out to me and said, ‘I need you to come and help me at Getz Healthcare. You're the man for the job.’ That was six years ago.”

Commenting of Getz Healthcare that the company has always been very encouraging and supportive in terms of assisting with personal growth and professional development, it is her team and the people across Getz Healthcare ANZ that have always been Margaret’s absolute favourite thing about the job. “It’s the people. My customer support team. My manager, she's really supportive,” explains Margaret. “Even though she's in Sydney and I haven't seen her in person for three years, she is really easy to have a conversation with. It’s wonderful.”

Having undergone changes in recent years, including those within warehousing and distribution, Margaret comments on how changes to the New Zealand team and her role, in reaction to COVID and successive lockdowns, have posed challenges. Adaptivity and working as part of a close-knit team have been absolutely essential characteristics that have contributed to the ongoing success and evolution of Getz Healthcare New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the four-person team based in New Zealand have been nothing but supportive and hardworking, during the years of COVID and beyond. “I am fortunate to be part of an exceptional and supportive team. The staff in New Zealand is incredibly supportive and dedicated’’ says Margaret. Describing her New Zealand team as wonderful and resilient, Margaret shares, “Wendy is wonderful. Tim is such a nice bloke. Craig is very hardworking. We're very resilient. We get on and do it. During COVID, we learned to get on with things, to make a plan and to make it all happen.”

How would you describe Getz Healthcare? “It's fun, innovative and invigorating.”
